The project — SOS Patto

SOS Patto is a free, non-profit project created to make the rules of the European Pact on Migration and Asylum (2024) and of the Italian implementing legislation accessible: to those who work in advice desks and services, to those who defend in court, and to the people to whom those rules apply.

The site offers:

Interactive legal texts — the 10 EU acts of the Pact and the amended Italian legislation, with every cross-reference clickable (texts in Italian);
Procedure diagrams (in Italian) — navigable flowcharts of screening and international protection procedures;
Case law and circulars — under construction: the first decisions and administrative practice, linked to the articles;
Quizzes and guided pathways (in Italian) — tests on rights, procedures and appeal deadlines for practitioners and lawyers;
Asylum guide — for people seeking asylum: which rules apply (before or after the Pact), the application, the interview, the decision and appeal deadlines.

SOS Patto is a project of Studio Legale Oltre, and is the sister project of SOS Permesso, the free guide to residence permits in Italy, and shares its spirit: verified legal information, plain language, no advertising.

The legal texts are checked against the official sources (EUR-Lex and Normattiva) and show the date of the last update.
