Implementation of the EU Pact: identification of the border zones under Article 54 of Regulation 2024/1348, with the national network of hotspots (including mobile ones) and the centres designated for detention.
Circular of the Department for Civil Liberties and Immigration which, in implementation of the European Pact on Migration and Asylum, notifies the European Commission (pursuant to Article 54(3) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1348) of the identification of the border zones in which the procedures are to be carried out. The circular stresses the national geographical connotation that excludes no site a priori, also providing for mobile hotspots, and updates the overview of «adequate capacity» (8,016 places): 3,132 in government first-reception centres, 3,804 in reception, 3,519 in operational hotspots, and the centres of Modica, Porto Empedocle and Gjader (489 places) designated for detention.
