Questura of Livorno — Immigration Office, 8 July 2026

Unofficial translation of the SOS Patto summary. The original decision or document is available in Italian only.

Subject

Arrangements for access to the asylum procedure in Livorno: those who wish to express the wish to apply for asylum must appear in person on Mondays and Thursdays from 7:00 a.m. in front of the Caserma Labate for fingerprinting, receiving the appointment for lodging only at a later time; requesting an appointment by certified email remains reserved for the «vulnerable categories» alone.

Reply from the Questura of Livorno — Immigration Office to a certified email in which a lawyer asked for an appointment for access to the asylum procedure. The note describes the operational arrangements in force in the provincial capital and in the province:

  • those interested in expressing the wish to apply for asylum may appear every week, from 7:00 a.m., on Monday and Thursday, in front of the Caserma Labate (Viale Boccaccio no. 5), «to start the procedures relating to fingerprinting»; only «subsequently will the foreign national be given an appointment in order to lodge his or her asylum application»;
  • applicants resident in the province may express the wish at the competent detached police Commissariati (Rosignano, Cecina, Piombino, Portoferraio), «exclusively on Monday starting from 8:00 a.m.», with the same procedure;
  • as to the possibility of requesting the appointment for lodging by certified email, the Questura «reiterates that this option is reserved exclusively for those belonging to the so-called “vulnerable categories”, in accordance with the legislation and the Departmental Circulars».

The document is useful because it captures the most fragile point of the new procedural sequence: the gap, even of weeks, between the expression of the wish and the formal registration of the application, with the trail of consequences in terms of access to reception and rights. See, for the same area, the monitoring of the disembarkation at the port of Livorno on 14 June 2026.
